Love these! I'm always amused by resumes that have the "interests" section. I'm pretty sure that there must be some universities that tell their students to include this, because every time I advertise internship positions almost half of the resumes I receive have it. It makes me wonder, why on earth would you think that your passion for horseback riding or swimming will help you get an internship at a women's health NGO?

I don't have a witty response to your post although loved it and wanted to let you know. I just stumbled on your page and have since read four very funny and very true blog postings. Just wanted to give you some kudos :-) Happy Friday!

Did you ever get one that claimed experience in "pubic relations?" A lot of recruiters say they've seen that one, but I suspect an urban legend.

Ha! I was an editor at a magazine and routinely hired copy editors and proofreaders. It would floor me how often applicants would send off resumes and cover letters riddled with typos. For a proofreading job. And they want me to hire them to edit 300 editorial pages a month? C'mon. I would immediately disqualify candidates for that. When I graduated from college I sent out a resume full of mistakes, job objectives, hobbies and other nonsense. I recruiter marked everything up with a red pen and sent it back to me with a very lovely note. I took her advice and fixed everything.

Yeah, that naptime thing isn't going so well lately. I'm trying to write most of my posts in advance, because I never know how much time I'm going to have on weekdays. Today, I had 11 minutes where they were both asleep. I spent it on laundry. Bah.

Hmm. I am really not sure why that's not working. Unless there is some setting about posting images or something. I checked my site just to make sure that the images are working, and everything is fine.

Weird. I will keep thinking about it.

Thanks for listing this week! BTW, if you want the list button to show up, you have to post the code in the "html" view on your dashboard (you know when you're typing, and it says you can have a "visual" interface v. an "html" one?)
